Sculpture Garden

When my client chose this concept drawing for a sculpture the next step was to find a place on their property it would belong. We decided to incorporate it with a new Dahlia garden on the edge of the lawn. I collaborated with their landscape designer Winona Webster to create a destination garden that would draw the viewer in and create a sacred space to spend time. The garden location on a hill began with retaining walls to carry it over the slope. The garden was broken into four quadrants divided by paths of thyme. We added stone thresholds, posts, and a large quarry block was split into two bench seats tucked into the back of the garden. Soon after completion the homeowner sent me some shots of a local getting comfortable in the new space.
